It is always fun to take a break from life and head over to California for the weekend. This last trip I took was with three other really fun people. My friend Eryn Hill is about to go on a mission to Dominican Republic so we decided to celebrate with her at Hungington Beach and Six Flags. It was her, me, Olivia Evans and Trevor Evans (distant cousins). We drove up Sunday night and stayed at my grandparents house who live in Lucerene Valley (the valley right below Big Bear). My grandparents are so wonderfully nice and hospitable. We ate yummy crepes that my Opa made and listened to some fine Elvis tunes (in the words of Opa, "you can never go wrong with Elvis"). Then we made our way to Hunington Beach and surprisingly it wasn't as crowded as we thought considering it was Memorial Day and all. We think maybe it was because the beach was so windy and Cold! Ha, it was still way fun just relaxing at the beach and eating at my favorite fish taco restaurant, Wahoo's. I loved hanging with these three awesome people because there seriously was never a dull moment. Trevor with his singing, Olivia with her faces, and Eryn with her corkyness, they always had me laughing. We had the most epic pillow/wresling fight in our hotel room and even though secretly we couldn't really pin Trevor the three of us girls would all say that we could beat him any day. Ha, six flags was super fun! You know you haven't been to a theme park in a while when the first ride you go on doesn't make you excited until you are making the first plunging flip drop
and all you can say is "holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!" It was so exciting to feel the drop in my stomach from falling from such high heights. After the theme park closed we headed home. The journey home was an adventure all of its own... We didn't get home until 3:30 in the morning and I can truly say I still wanted to be in California. Thanks Eryn, Olivia and Trevor for making this trip so much fun.
