So last week some friends of old and friends of new (all friends of mine) and I decided it was much needed for us to visit Huntington Beach and swim with the fishes (literally-not in the dead kind of way). We packed up our things, took a little nap, and left bright and early (3 am) on Friday. We got to Huntington around 10 and started our adventure for the weekend. First adventure: there was a guy in our group, Peter Jennings, who was having a bless-ed GOLDEN birthday! Thats right turning 24 on the 24th of August. What luck! Trells Bells was so nice and put together this scavenger hunt thing for him where he had to pop a balloon to get his clue and then find his "prize" or his "gift." The Scavenger hunt lasted throughout the day and night. It was so fun and thoughtful of Trell. (seriously such a great friend!!!) Sadly the beach was quite chilly on Friday (no sun) but we had a lot of fun playing games in the sand.
On Saturday the sun decided to bless us with its presence and we fried like chickens. Complete red lobsters by the end of the day. BUT regardless of the sun it was a glorious day for volleyball tournaments, Wahoo's Fish Taco's (favorite place EVA), meeting up with old roommates (Lindsay Bush-LOVE HER) and playing in the water.
Sunday was so nice. We packed up, went to church, and then went by the Newport Temple. It was a stupendous way to end such a fun trip! I love good friends! I am so grateful for beautiful things like the ocean and sand and temples. And I want to do the same trip next weekend, whose in??!!
